In this blog you can download free pdf of ADVANCED TECHNIQUES IN MUSCULOSKELETAL MEDICINE AND PHYSIOTHERAPY edited by FERMIN VALERA GARRIDO and FRANSISCO MINAYA MUNOZ.
This work begins with an introduction to the various invasive physiotherapy techniques, including significant aspects regarding the history, education, training, and regulation of invasive techniques within the physiotherapy profession, as well as a description of the theoretical and practical considerations that must be taken into account for correct praxis (Part I: Chapters 1 and 2). In Part II, the regions of vasculonervous conflict and the most relevant anatomical landmarks for the application of puncture procedures are discussed (Chapter 3).
Part III discusses the application of musculoskeletal ultrasound in physiotherapy (Chapter 4), anatomical–ultrasound integration (sonoanatomy) (Chapter 5), the use of new imaging methods such as elastography (Chapter 6), and the practise of ultrasound-guided procedures to improve the efficacy and safety of interventions (Chapter 7).
In Parts IV to X, the mechanisms of action, application methods, and effects of invasive treatments, including dry needling (Chapter 8), Dry N eedling or H ypertonia and Spasticity (DN H S®) (Chapter 9), and needling are describedtechniques or segmental dys unction (Chapter 10), PN T (Chapter 11), Intratissue Percu taneous Electrolysis (EPI®) (Chapters 12–14), clinical acupuncture (Chapters 15 and 16), mesotherapy (Chapter 17), injection therapy (Chapter 18) and H VIGI (Chapter 19). Finally, part XI is designed to teach the pro- essional to assess the results obtained objectively rom the perspective o unctionality (Chapter 20) and the changes achieved in the treated tissue (Chapter 21). T his book is designed as a teaching tool and includes a glossary, explaining the most important terms. Each chapter also contains real clinical cases. Additional online material is available, including videos o the interventions and the gures (in colour) rom the book. Lastly, we would like to express our gratitude to our close associate Françesc Medina i Mirapeix, who, or many years, has shown us the scienti c value o physiotherapy, and to all the authors who have contributed towards this editorial project. T his work paves the way or new research and discoveries. Without a present there is no uture.
